Before Google Ads: Prepare your budget for measurable enquiries

Being ready to advertise means more than opening an account. Visitors need a relevant page, a working enquiry route and a team that follows up. For a business in Cyprus, the first campaign should be a defined learning exercise with a clear scope and measurement method.
Choose one business objective
A telephone conversation, quote request and appointment enquiry are different outcomes. Define the primary goal and what makes an enquiry qualified. Match service areas, supported languages and working hours to actual operating capacity. Keep advertising spend separate from agency service fees in the budget.
Match the promise to the destination
Send someone seeking a business website to a page explaining that service. Scope, contact details and the next step should be easy to find, and the mobile form must work. Blog posts can support research, but they are not automatically the best landing page for every advertisement. Compliance with Google’s destination requirements must be assessed separately.
Measure completed actions accurately
Do not confuse clicking Submit with successful delivery of a form. Check that repeated page loads do not count the same enquiry twice. A telephone or WhatsApp link click is not proof of a conversation or sale. Before adding analytics and advertising tools, establish the privacy information and consent mechanism appropriate to their use.
Turn early results into decisions
Calculate cost per enquiry by dividing spending by valid enquiries from the same period; separate spam and duplicates. Avoid firm conclusions from a small sample over a few days. Review search terms, landing-page performance and sales-team feedback together. If enquiry quality is weak, review targeting and messaging before increasing the budget.
